Constantly evolving and innovating, GCi is advancing into more markets where customers’ ideas (and our suggestions supporting them) can be brought to life with creative and customized solutions.

Case: A military manufacture came to General Composites for help developing a new innovation of strategic tactical equipment for elite forces. The new equipment needed to be extremely tough and light weight. The group already had the knowledge and expertise of working with advance thermoplastic composites, needed to build the parts; however, we lacked the equipment capacity to run such a large parts project. Excited about their clients new vision, a team was quickly assembled to develop a new and larger molding cell, capable of withstanding the significant molding stresses generated by such a larger part. Fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites are lighter, tougher, stiffer and more sustainable than traditional metal molds. Determined to innovate the design vision of their client, the team was able to tackle this massive production capability with great success. The results led to strong patents for our client, significant new production capability for us, in addition to helping generate large projects for future customers, and the satisfaction of knowing that we are providing to make our troops safer and more comfortable in the field.
